The PCCOM PCI bus 8 port adapter is a 32 bits PCI bus board with Plug and Play (PnP) features, it provides eight asynchronous serial communication ports and is supplied in three different variants, RS232, RS422 or RS485. The cards can be used to link a computer to serial peripheral devices such as terminals, modems, serial printers, EPOS equipment, ... etc.

This serial port adapter is ideally suited for easy installation of extra COM ports. The board may be installed in any PC or hardware compatible systems fitted with PCI slots. The PnP features allow hardware to automatically configure to available IRQ and I/O addresses, you don’t need to change switches or jumper settings unless installing multiple PCCOM cards.

Drivers are included for ALL platforms including DOS with full COMn buffered file support.

There is two major variations of the boards which can be provided with either 16554 UARTs ( 16 byte FIFO ), or with 16654 UART ( 32 byte FIFO ) for faster speeds, or systems with overrun problems. There is also an option for isolated ports for use in areas with high voltage noise problems or where a high degree of voltage isolation is required i.e when running links between two buildings.

The boards can be ordered with either 25pin or 9 pin 'male connector' spider leads or alternatively a 25pin 'female connector' expansion box.

As with most of our cards up to FOUR cards can be installed in any one computer system.
