The PCI bus 8255 adapter is a 48 bit PCI bus card with Plug and Play (PnP) features. The card is a programmable I/O interface for PC/486, Pentium or compatible computers. The PnP features allow hardware configuration for IRQ and I/O addresses to be automatically set by the computer, avoiding the need to manually set switches and jumpers.

This card has 48 bits of programmable I/O plus timer functions. The card is built around two industry standard 8255 I/O chips plus a single 8254 chip. The card also features 16 on-board LED's connected to 16 of the 48 I/O lines.

The card is ideally suited for use with the SmartLab series of cards, or for easy termination use the DC-0630 termination board.

The card is fitted with two on-board 40pin ribbon connectors. The card is also supplied with 2off 40pin ribbon connectors to 50pin 'D' connectors mounted on standard expansion slot brackets. The pin-out connections are identical to that of the DC-0600 ISA bus card.
