The RS232 / RS485 converter provides conversion and 5000 volt isolation of RS232 to RS485 signals. The unit is ready to be fixed using the industry standard DIN rail and all connections are via terminal screws.

These units are intended for use in industrial environments where conversion from a PC Serial port etc., to an RS485 signal is required. RS485 signals are half-duplex, i.e.only one side can send data at a time, and only require one pair of wires between stations.

The unit also incorporates LED indication of Power On, Transmit Data, and Receive Data to help diagnostics and confidence checks.

The unit is also supplied with short connecting multicore leads. Both 9pin and 25pin Female 'D' connectors are supplied with tinned wire-ends ready to connect the unit to a nearby PC.

The units are intended to be powered from an external power source, not supplied, with a nominal voltage option of either 24volt or 12volt.
