The RS232 / RS422 converter provides conversion and 5000 volt isolation of RS232 to RS422 signals. The unit is ready to be fixed using the industry standard DIN rail and all connections are via terminal screws.

Thes units are intended for use in industrial environments where conversion from a PC Serial port etc., to an RS422 signal is required. This conversion is useful to extend the usually short range of RS232 signals to enable communication over much extended distances and less noise prone standard of RS422.

The unit also incorporates LED indication of Power On, Transmit Data, and Receive Data to help diagnostics and confidence checks.

The unit is also supplied with short connecting multicore leads. Both 9pin and 25pin Female 'D' connectors are supplied with tinned wire-ends ready to connect the unit to a nearby PC.

The units are intended to be powered from an external power source, not supplied, with a nominal voltage option of either 24volt or 12volt.
